Introducing Asher Scott Johnson

He is finally here!!!!! Asher was born on January 16th in our home. Labor and delivery went very well, but very exhausting for me:) Allen has been such a blessing to me in taking care of the other kids and the house, and helping me during the middle of the night. He is an amazing husband. Aaliyah is such a helper, and she does such a great job of taking care of Asher when we need her to. Isaiah like to sit and hold him, and he is also a big help around the house. The other morning Aaliyah and Isaiah "cleaned up the kitchen", and they dished up my breakfast so it would be ready when I came downstairs. They both are becoming servant minded, and it is a joy to watch them grow. Isaac is also really enjoying his baby brother. He is very sweet and gentle with him. When he asks to hold him, we set Asher on his lap, but with in a few seconds Isaac says, "Too big, too big!"

Here are some photos of just after he was born. He weighed 9lbs 1oz and was 20.5 inches long........

Here are Isaiah and Allen cutting the umbilical cord.....

More pictures.....

And here is a picture of his beautiful little feet! Asher has been born with clubbed feet which need to be treated right away. (for info on clubbed feet go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Club_foot). We have an appointment next week with a pediatric specialist, so please be praying with us that Asher will not have to have surgery to correct it. He will start of with casting and we'll go from there. My brother was born with a clubbed foot 34 years ago. He went through casting and then surgery at 8 months old. But it has not held him back at all. It's as if he never had a problem with his foot. We know God has Asher in His hands, and that He will give us peace in this process.

And a few more pictures. My mom took these today (5 days old).....
